The best basketball judges in the country believe Trae Dombroski could just be Australia’s next big thing on the courts.

The most dominant player the Logan Thunder has had in a long time is ready to lead his club into the fray at Basketball Australia’s Under 14 Club Championships in Casey.

Every match of the national tournament will be exclusively live streamed on KommunityTV from September 24-29.

Dombroski, who towers over the top of his rivals at more than 185cm tall, has been long seen as the most exciting talent in his age group.

From 50 point games and athletic finishes to disciplined leadership, Dombroski has the full package and is gearing up to strike thunder as the best club teams assemble in the hotbed of basketball in Australia.

“He’s our brightest male prospect that we have ever had in the Under 12s and Under 14s,” said Logan Thunder general manager Mitchell Young.

“He is the most dominant under 14s male player I’ve ever seen.

“He has a bright future ahead of him if he keeps working towards it.

The Year 9 student, who attends burgeoning basketball nursery Marsden State High, will be one of the key members of the Thunder brigade heading to Casey.

The proud Logan club will contest both the boys and girls Under-14 club championships, one of only seven clubs across the nation to be represented in both genders at the nationals.

Matthew McGrath (Under 14 boys)

A talented guard who can get a bucket and use the pick and roll.

he handles the press break, is long and athletic, looks for his teammates and has good pedigree with older brother Ash McGrath a GPS basketball premiership winner with TSS/

The Future Development Program talent will be one to watch.

Koby Fata (Under 14 boys)

A combination forward who is strong, athletic and can get to the rim with ease.

Don’t worry about rebounds, he has them covered.

Nash Gilchrist (Under 14 boys)

The centre has improved in leaps and bounds this season and will smash the glass, finish well around the right and get to spots where he can score.

Watch for the 194cm centre to do his best work off the pick and roll.

Trae Dombroski (Under 14 boys)

Strong, finishes in contact. Really good athlete.

Does whatever he wants, he will share it around.

Big kid but can play like a guard.

Will use his size to his advantage.

Jay Sebasio (Under 14 girls)

The athletic Sabasio can finish with her right and left and will lead the team with both her words and crafty moves.

Standout with a capital S.

Maddison Jewel Reisinger (Under 14 girls)

The tall Reisinger will be seen eating boards.

The Moreton Bay College student in the Future Development Program has that looked after, don’t worry.

Cassie Renee Karaitiana (Under 14 girls)

A combo-forward who can do a bit of everything.

Comes with good pedigree being a Karaitiana.
