TV personalities are among the starting line-up for Brisbane’s largest fun run.

Channel 7 sports presenter Alissa Smith and meteorologist Tony Auden have signed up for the Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane in September.

Smith, also the wife of NRL legend Matt Ballin, said it would be a time for her to step up and emulate the athletes she covers daily.

“I’ll be running regularly and strategically, whilst incorporating some cross-training,” she said.

Auden, meanwhile, was looking to get competitive again after a temperamental right knee made it hard to run regularly.

“I’ll keep cycling and doing my normal gym training, then ease into some shorter runs in the few weeks beforehand,” he said.

“I’m trying to tell myself I’ll set a steady pace and stay comfortable, but on the day there’s always the temptation of seeing how fast I can go.”

Entrants are urged to secure their early bird tickets at a discounted price, as last year was a sellout.
