Taylor Swift boarded a plane home to the US after her last Japanese concert, just days before her Aussie tour is due to begin.

Taylor Swift has reportedly rushed to her private jet after her most recent Japanese concert, starting the journey back to the US where she is expected to support boyfriend Tavis Kelce at tomorrow’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

Swift has a five-day break in her intense touring schedule between her Japanese dates and the much-anticipated Australian leg of her tour, set to start on Friday February 16 in Melbourne.

Fans have been in a frenzy about whether or not Swift would attempt to make it to tomorrow’s Super Bowl to watch her boyfriend play with his team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

NBC reports that Swift’s private jet left Haneda Airport in Tokyo on Saturday night, local time, and is scheduled to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport at around 5:30pm Saturday evening, local time, according to Flight Radar.

Following the 12-hour flight, Swift then has roughly 24 hours to rest and make the short flight to Las Vegas before Super Bowl kick-off.

And NBC also reports that Swift’s private jet has been given a playful name on flight listings: “The Football Era,” a nod to the star flying back to the US in the midst of her Eras tour to support her footballer boyfriend.

Of course, Swift’s love of private jet travel has also come under heavy scrutiny. Her travel habits made the news again last week when it was reported that one of her jets recently took a flight of just 13 minutes, flying from one side of the US city St Louis to the other, in what would’ve been a 30-minute drive. It was later revealed that Swift had sold that jet before the flight was taken.

A 2022 study which named Swift among the worst celebrity private jet polluters, with 170 flights in a seven-month period, copped a rare rebuttal from the star’s representatives. They told TMZ: “Taylor’s jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals. To attribute most or all of these trips to her is blatantly incorrect.”

Post-Superbowl, it’ll be a long journey to Australia for Swift, who will perform three massive concerts in Melbourne next weekend before moving to Sydney for another four huge stadium shows. All dates are completely sold out.

Those who missed out on tickets were given some news to console themselves last week: on stage at last Monday’s Grammy Awards, Swift announced that her next album, titled The Tortured Poets Department, would be released in April. A short time later, she won the coveted Album of the Year award for her most recent album Midnights – a record-breaking fourth AOTY win for the star.
