Smith deal going down to the wire?

More than three days have passed since the last AFL trade as clubs work behind the scenes to make this year’s big moves take place.

Jack Darling (North Melbourne) and Alex Neal-Bullen (Adelaide) moved on Monday, but since then there have been no trades.

A big reason for the halt in proceedings has been the strength of this year’s draft, with clubs unwilling to part with picks to help seal trades.

But maybe Friday will be when the deadlock is broken as players including Bailey Smith, Jack Macrae and James Peatling wait for their deals to go through.
