Hawthorn premiership player Jack Gunston is Haileybury through and through.
Unlike some who take up scholarships for only their final few years of football, Gunston started at Haileybury in prep and was a regular on the school football ovals right through.
“Growing up with your mates, I loved getting them out there and having a kick at lunchtime and recess and having a kick and trying to take some species on them,” Gunston said in a school video celebrating his career.
Selected by Adelaide with pick 29 in the 2009 national draft, Gunston has gone on to make his name at Hawthorn.
Part of the Hawks’ premiership three-peat from 2013 to 2015, the 200-game star is also a three-time leading goalkicker at the club and was a 2018 All-Australian.

Selected at pick No. 1 in the same national draft, Tom Scully is another Haileybury product.
Scully was drafted to Melbourne but played 121 of his 187 AFL games with expansion side Greater Western Sydney after being traded at the end of 2011.
Scully finished his career alongside Gunston at Hawthorn, before announcing his retirement earlier this year.

Twin brothers Max and Ben King could yet prove to be the best duo to come out of Haileybury as they continue to make an impact at St Kilda and Gold Coast Suns respectively.
Max was taken at pick four in the 2018 national draft, with Ben not far behind at pick six.
Western Bulldogs 2016 premiership player Tory Dickson is another Haileybury graduate, the forward having played 114 AFL games for a return of 181 goals at the club.
Other current players to hail from Haileybury include Western Bulldogs ruckman Stefan Martin, St Kilda swingman Josh Battle, Port Adelaide midfielder Karl Amon, Adelaide’s Tom Lynch and Melbourne onballer Angus Brayshaw.
*Note: An earlier version of this story accidently omitted Fremantle midfielder Andrew Brayshaw from this team
