The children of slain man Sean Murray, 32, were allegedly locked in a bedroom before his partner stabbed him in the back, police say.
The Courier-Mail can reveal police will allege Jean Louise Herholdt, 28, of Murrumba Downs, stabbed the man in the back with a 30cm kitchen knife during an argument at a property on Burnett Drive on Thursday.
It is alleged a third party closed a bedroom door while the pair were fighting, to stop the children witnessing an altercation.
Herholdt, who is the partner of Mr Murray, was yesterday charged with one count of murder, with the aggravating circumstance that it occurred in a domestic setting.
She appeared in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today but was remanded in custody until October.
Ms Herholdt did not apply for bail and was not taken from the watch house to the courtroom.
The court heard Ms Herholdt had only just returned to the watch house from hospital.
Family and friends of the mother-of-three gathered outside court, to show their support.
Yesterday, neighbours reported hearing a woman yell “not my baby, not my baby,” in the moments before Mr Murray’s death.
Paramedics were called to the scene on Burnett Drive about 8.15am, however Mr Murray died on the side of the road from alleged stab wounds to his back.
Mr Murray’s Facebook says he was a married father of two young girls and a son, employed by Lenard’s Chicken.
