He was charged on April 11 but due to COVID restrictions, his first appearance in Beenleigh Magistrates Court was not until today.
Police allege that between December 13 last year and March 21, Mr Cosic allowed drugs, mostly ice but also including heroin, to be trafficked under the auspice of his business.
Police further allege that on January 2, Mr Cosic received property he had reason to believe had been stolen, namely tyre workshop equipment manufactured by Corghi.
There is no suggestion that any other business located within the same Kingston Rd complex, have any involvement with the case whatsoever.
In court today, Mr Cosic’s defence lawyer Rijald Hadzalic from Alibi Criminal Defence requested police provide a full brief of evidence. This is to be provided by August 10.
The case will return for mention in Beenleigh on August 26. Mr Cosic’s bail was enlarged (i.e. continued).
According to the Markos Tyres website, the business is “family owned and operated” and has been operating for more than 20 years.
