A PAIR of young men from Doolandella have had their phones stolen in a terrifying night-time armed robbery, where they were allegedly confronted by a group of young males of African appearance brandishing a “large hammer and knife”.
Police say the alleged incident occurred at about 7.15pm on Monday.

They claim a 21-year-old and a 22-year-old were approached “by a group of young males of African appearance” who demanded their mobile phones. One was allegedly armed with a knife and another a “large hammer”.
Police say the young men tried to flee but were caught.
“During the altercation one of the victims was struck by the hammer a number of times to his legs and received a minor abrasion to his back. The offenders decamped in two vehicles,” Inala Police Station OIC Snr Sgt Craig Mackenzie said.
“Police are continuing inquiries into the matter and are canvassing the neighbourhood to locate any CCTV footage that may assist with the investigation.”
