“And for that dream to become reality at just 15 is unbelievable. I am so blessed to be given the opportunity.”

Bianca will compete in the open/pro women section at the Games and isn’t too phased by the competition.

“There are so many other amazing girl riders and honestly it all comes down to the day,” she said.

“But I’m just stoked for the opportunity and I will be happy with whatever the outcome is.”

She is preparing for the competition with “just the usual, perfecting all of my tricks”.

“I train once or twice a week, usually at RampAttak (at Geebung) but sometimes I travel to different parks as well.”

Bianca’s mother Sylvia Gamgee said she was extremely proud of her daughter’s achievements.

“Being able to achieve her dream of representing her country and her indigenous background in an extreme sport such as scooter riding is mind blowing.

“Bianca has trained hard but above all she has had a lot of fun and made many friends, and I will be cheering her on in Barcelona.”

Bianca took up scooter riding about six years ago “because it was something different and I enjoyed it”.

“I enjoy getting to meet heaps of new people and there is always a new trick to learn.”

In her first Australasian competition in 2015 she placed third, then came first in 2016, second in 2017 and first in both 2018 and this year.

She is sponsored by Apex Pro Scooters, Gain Protection and Scooter & Skate Warehouse.

“Thank you to everyone who supports me,” Bianca said

“Please wish me luck.”

Skate Australia president Karen Doyle said she was sure Bianca would do herself and Australia proud.

“I’ve not seen Bianca compete in person though I have watched some of her YouTube videos. Her riding is clean, consistent and fun to watch.

“This is the first time that scooter has been included at World Skate’s World Roller Games.

“It’s exciting that women from this discipline are finally having the opportunity to show what they can do on a world stage.”

Ms Doyle said Skate Australia would have about 140 athletes and support staff going to the World Roller Games to be held in Barcelona from July 4-14.

There will be more than 4000 athletes competing in 11 disciplines — Alpine, Artistic, Roller Freestyle, Downhill, Inline Freestyle, Inline Hockey, Rink Hockey, Roller Derby, Scooter, Speed and Skateboarding.
