Stafford landscaper Billy Lee Bornstein charged with murder of Lachlan Griffiths
The name of the third man charged over the alleged murder of Brisbane man Lachlan Griffiths, who disappeared from Brisbane’s CBD in January, can now be revealed after his first court appearance.

The name of the third man charged over the alleged murder of Brisbane man Lachlan Griffiths has been revealed following his first court appearance today.
Billy Lee Bornstein faced Caboolture Magistrates Court via video link from custody on Wednesday April 6, charged with murdering Lachlan Griffiths.
Bornstein, a 28-year-old Stafford man, was arrested at a Waroon St address Tuesday and charged over Mr Griffiths’ murder.
Mr Griffiths disappeared from Brisbane’s CBD in January and a body has never been found.
According to court documents, Bornstein was working as a landscaper at the time of his arrest.
The murder charge was adjourned until May 31, 2022, with Bornstein’s appearance being excused for the second mention.
The charge is the latest development for Taskforce Voltron, which launched a large-scale homicide investigation following the suspicious disappearance of Mr Griffiths, and a second man, Andrew Walsh, both aged 35.
Police believe the disappearance of both men are linked.
It is not suggested that the Stafford man was involved in any way in relation to Mr Walsh’s death.
“The joint investigation between Homicide Investigation Unit and Indooroopilly and Logan Criminal Investigation Branch has linked this business to the suspicious disappearance of two men,” a Queensland Police statement said.
In early March, Mr Walsh’s body was found encased in concrete at a Coopers Plains transport depot following the execution of a two-week search warrant at the Musgrave Rd business.
Mr Walsh had been reported missing in January of this year, however he was last seen alive on November 7, 2021 in Slacks Creek.
Police intel led investigators to the Coopers Plains transport depot, where Mr Walsh’s body was recovered.
Flip Grbavac and Francescos Giorgi, both 40, have been charged with Mr Griffiths’ murder.
Mr Griffiths was reported missing on 26 January 2022 and was last known to be residing in different hotels in the Brisbane area.
It is not suggested that the either man was involved in any way in relation to Mr Walsh’s death.
His body has not yet been located by investigators.
Detectives will continue to interview witnesses and progress investigative strategies including the review of CCTV footage and telephone data, and call on the public for help.
Police are continuing their appeal for information from anyone in the community who may have information into the disappearances of both men to assist in these investigations.
In March, the CEO of the transport company David Lee Tan, 39 and Dewald de Klerk, 27, and Hoa Chanh, 28, were each charged with one count of accessory after the fact to murder and misconduct with a corpse in relation to Mr Walsh’s death.
