The team behind Saigon Bakehouse Group are gearing up for the grand opening of their eighth bakery, Mountview Bakehouse, this Saturday (July 2).
The family-run bakery, which held its soft opening last Friday, will be located next to Woolworths Mountview.
Van Nguyen owns several bakeries in Brisbane, including Darra Bakehouse, Van Dough Capalaba, Saigon Bakehouse and Amore Fine Foods.
Leigh Carson, chief operations officer at Saigon Bakehouse Group, told South-West Satellite as well as traditional baked goods like pies, sausage rolls and bread and sandwiches, Mountview Bakehouse will also sell fancy sweets like cakes, caramel and meringue tarts, doughnuts and Vietnamese delicacies like banh mi and rice paper rolls.
Coffee will also be available to purchase.
“We’ve got a good range of quality meat pies and fine pastry items.
“A lot of pride goes into producing high-quality products. We review products, we research, we try new products or variations of existing products to meet customer requests.”
Mr Carson added the whole operation is a family-run business.
“Nguyen’s family is involved in the business, a lot of the family help set up stores and train staff,” he said. “Nguyen and his family are all experienced bakers.”
The new bakery will be open seven days a week, 5am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday and 6am to 4pm on Sunday’s.
Mr Carson also said to keep an eye out for their ninth bakery, which is expected to be opening in Browns Plains later this year.
