The Speedo Fastskin big reveal has taken place, with Australian superstars Mack Horton and Emma McKeon leading a parade of aquatic athletes modelling the attire at today’s launch in Sydney.
Griffith University Gold Coast swim star McKeon and Australian Dolphins powerhouse Horton launched the exclusive aquatic sports uniform range which has been designed for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
They were wearing Speedo’s latest tech race suits; Fastskin Pure Intent and Fastskin Pure Valor.
Speedo’s researchers returned to nature to look at how sharks and other fish reduce drag when they swim before going to work on designing the attire.
Speedo Brand Manager, Graham Eyres said the company wanted to design a suit “giving the swimmer a wider range of motion in the legs and making it easier to put on and more comfortable to wear’’.

McKeon said the Speedo Fastskin was “a lot easier to put on’’.
“The shoulders are much more comfortable and I feel fast wearing it. When I stand on the blocks, I’m feeling confident that the suit is going to help me,” said McKeon, a member of Michael Bohl’s Griffith University swim club.
Three-time Paralympic gold medallist Brenden Hall added: “Speedo has always been at the
forefront of swimsuit technology and an important part of my medal winning performances at the Games. I know I can swim my best in Fastskin.”
Queensland’s emerging middle distance star Clyde Lewis said the Fastskin was “tight’’ and jokingly worried he had “put on some weight’’ .
“But they feel good. They look fast with a good pattern and a good design with green and gold on them. What more can you ask,’’ Lewis said.
