Both Mabel Park SHS and St Mary’s were in last season’s competition, but only one can progress this season.
So who will be some of the SPEED DEMONS to watch across the qualifying series?
St Mary’s College
Cruz Williamson: Williamson comes into the squad for the first time for this match. He is a hard trainer, team man who is elusive at fullback.
Mabel Park SHS
Te Hata Reid: Reid is a fullback with acceleration off the mark. Blink and he’s gone.
Elijah Tagiilima: It takes winger Tagiilima a while to work thorough his gears but he’s devastating at top speed.
Caloundra SHS
Brooklenn Mundraby-Grogan: A fullback who is very exciting to watch, Brooklenn’s electric speed makes him extremely dangerous to mark, especially in broken play. He uses his instincts to the best of his ability and since moving down from Cairns, he has gone from strength to strength.
Dyllan Cousens: Mountain Creek SHS’s Cousens will play dummy half. The Sunshine Coast Falcons Mal Meninga captain, he’s very quick which helps his side when they are trying to get the ball moving from the ruck. He is also a smart footballer with solid organisation skills.
Redcliffe SHS
Jayden Alefaio: Alefaio can play anywhere in backline and can change the tempo of the game with ball in hand.
Blayne Linsell: Linsell is a real try scorer who is a powerful runner of the ball.
