A year 11 student who played Meninga Cup (under 18s) for the impressive Tweed Seagulls earlier in the season, Kini made his debut last round against Coombabah SHS and has been retained for the big clash.

Powerfully built, he has a ready made club combination with his halfback Tom Weaver and an array of other Tweed players.

PBC SHS may still be without No.1 dummy half Oskar Bryant who has almost recovered from a broken thumb sustained in last month’s state championships.

He may play, but if not will be certain to return in round 5 against Keebra Park SHS.

Regardless, Tanu Nona has done a splendid job in his absence.

Aside from Kini, another new face to the competition this season, Marsden SHS’s Will Semu, will continue in his preferred centre position after starting the season on the wing.

The Titans’ contracted Semu’s presence at centre will see Nathaniel Tangimataiti return to the edge backrow.

In the continued absence of Queensland schoolboys merit fullback Leon Te Hau, the fleet-a-foot Teapo Stoltman, who has grown in confidence this season after finding his feet as a Year 11 student in 2020, will continue at fullback.
