As Marsden SHS prepares for its Back to Marsden Day on Thursday at the school, we peer into the past to come up a best past players side made up of players since 2017.
The school which produced the great Cameron Smith and countless others continues to reel out elite rugby league players, and below we celebrate the best in recent years.
Members of the Marsden community will be welcomed back this Thursday to watch all games, including the Walters Cup and Langer (5pm) matches live streamed by News Corp.

THE RECENT OLD BOYS TEAM
1. Tesi Niu: Currently Dolphins NRL player who first broke into the big league at the Broncos. Was an Australian schoolboy fullback.
2. Leon Ta Hau: A former Queensland schoolboys representative working his way you're the system at South Sydney.
3. Tony Francis: An explosive centre or edge player contracted to the Gold Coast Titans. He is a player of NRL potential.
4. Tyrone Sa’u: A former Queensland schoolboys representative who ozzes class.
5. Will Semu: Signed by the Titans but in demand from another NRL club, Semu is back to his best and was a Queensland schoolboy player this month.
6. Sienna Lofipo: The teen is an NRLW rookie in waiting, having earned a Titans contract after helping steer the Wynnum Manly Seagulls to the BMD Premiership grand final. The five-eight is a Queensland Under 19 women’s representative.
7. Coby Black: The current captain, Black represented the Queensland schoolboys only last week.

8. Xavier Stowers: A towering prop who scored crucial tries during Marsden’s Langer Trophy winning season in 2021.
9. Destiny Brill: A flagship player for the women’s rugby league community in Logan, she is a Queensland State of Origin representative and first grade premiership winner.
10. Lance Fualema: The hard working prop is currently working his way through the system at Parramatta.
11. Cruise Ten: A renowned leader, he was a pocket dynamo second rower, explosive with no fear.
12. TC Robati: The former Queensland schoolboys representative broke into the NRL playing for the Broncos.
13. Chris Faagutu: A Wests Tigers No.13, Faagutu was a 2022 Australian schoolboy and three season veteran of our News Corp “Langer Team of the Year’’.
Reserves: Cassius Cowley: Was a classical half who played straight and courageously took the ball to the line.
Konard Tu’au: A wonderful talent who gave Marsden SHS x-factor.
Lewis Symonds: An unlucky omission from the 2023 schoolboys, he is a No.13 young gun
Te Rani Woodman: Blink and you might miss him. A winger signed by the Storm, is he the quickest player to play Firsts at the school?
Creedance Toia: Initially a Canterbury player, he plays for the Bears and earned a training contract with the Titans.
Nathaniel Tangimataiti: A Queensland schoolboys representative, he is an edge forward who an also play centre with ease.
Haizyn Mellars: THE 2022 Queensland schoolboys winger is a highly rated South Sydney-signed player. Fantastic hands, great in and air and with speed. Very promising future.
Keenan Timu: Skilful edge back rower now playing professional rugby union in France.
Junior Finau: A speedstar winger who became synonymous with hard running kick returns.
