Hockey livestreaming is back this weekend with coverage of the Big Hockey Hit Out

Hockey livestreaming is back with a bang this weekend. Subscribe here to view three days of Big Hockey Hit Out action, while unlocking access to the best News Corp’ site in Australia.

Queensland’s finest will compete in The Big Hockey Hit Out representative selection trials be livestreamed by News Corp from Friday.

The three day event, staged Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Labrador on the Gold Coast, will give selectors a chance to formulate Queensland senior teams (Brisbane Blaze) to compete in the Hockey One National League later in the year.

It will be livestreamed across the state by www.couriermail.com.au, Gold Coast Bulletin and News affiliates around the state.

The Big Hockey Hit Out features four teams - the Rays, the Reefs, the Thunder and the Stingers across men’s and women’s senior action.

Players from around the state, including Toowoomba, the Fraser Coast, Townsville, Tweed, Gladstone, Mackay, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Sunshine Coast and Brisbane will feature.

Games will be played across four, 15 minute quarters and promise fast and furious action.

“The Big Hockey Hit Out was developed to create an event that emulated the national Hockey One League (H1) and create the high intensity that comes with High Performance Hockey,’’ said Hockey Queensland CEO Alison Lyons.

“It will provide our Brisbane Blaze selectors the opportunity to pick a Blaze squad after seeing the players perform under the pressure of the H1 rules.

“The BHHO also creates an opportunity for some of our up and coming and experienced high performance coaches to go head to head.

“I am excited to see a the new concept come to life and to see our states top hockey players coached by some of our top coaches will create some thrilling games of hockey.”

BWHA 2020 GRAND FINAL REPLAYS

Action starts on Friday night with four games from 6pm, and then two sessions on Saturday - a morning block of four games between 9.15am and 10.45am, and then an evening block of four matches between 5.30pm and 7pm.

The finals will then be contested on Sunday, with games 10am and 11am.

The Hockey Queensland’s High Performance Event, showcasing the best players in Queensland, will be free to spectators.

The Queensland’s rising stars, while fighting it out for a shot at Brisbane Blaze selection and bragging rights, will also share in $4000 prize money.
