IGS director of sport Nigel Grieve felt his side was a little slow to warm up in the first half but made up for it in a “stellar performance” in round two.
Grieve said players dominated every aspect of the game and were unlucky not to put the opposition away.
“Goalkeeper Henry Blackledge (Year 9) made his First XI debut in the last 20 minutes of the game, in difficult circumstances, but performed admirably,” Grieve said.

Churchie director of football Derek Lennon could not be drawn on who played best for his side saying it was a solid team performance with “everyone doing their jobs really well”.
The win did not come without a fight, with BGS playing well, but Churchie was not to be denied.
Lennon said the win “was up there for the season” and wanted to see the side maintain the form going forward.
Churchie next takes on St Joseph’s Gregory Terrace at home.
In a high scoring match, The Southport School fought through injuries to come away with a 5-3 win against Toowoomba Grammar School in Toowoomba.
TSS director of football Joe Dolan said a “very heavy pitch” tested the boys, with several picking up injuries but refusing to give up.
Dolan lauded the hosts who sport a fearsome GPS record and was glad to come away with the win.
“They pushed us all the way and made us work for it even though we were way out front for it all the way to the end,” Dolan said.
Lochie Johnston was singled out for an “exceptional performance” wowing the grounds with nothing less than a hat-trick.
TSS next take on Brisbane Grammar School at home.
