A record 607 schools have so far nominated for the Streets Smart ALFQ Schools Cup this season, and we will be there to livestream the biggest ever first round of SEQ this month.

The www.couriermail.com.au will livestream the March 25 qualifying day at Springfield, and then the semi-finals and finals in August, September and October.

“’We’re into our third year of streaming with Queensland AFL and we’ll do more tournaments and more games because parents and supporters are demanding it,’’ said Bryce Johns, Executive Editor, Digital

“It’s fantastic to be partnering with such a progressive sport, who realised the significance of streaming so early in the piece.’’

He said www.couriermail.com.au was also hoping to stream the SEQ youth and junior finals and the SEQ Schools Cup quarter-finals.

“For a state wide competition this is a fantastic arrangement that will see more schools football streamed in 2021 than ever before in Queensland.”

He said the StreetSmarts AFLQ Schools Cup had grown every year and “this year will be no exception’’.

“In 2019 we had 602 teams nominate for the event and we have already passed this figure for 2021.”

“We are very appreciative of each and every school that plays in this competition and it’s why we continue to provide this competition free of charge to participants.”
