Two men have been captured on camera wielding a crowbar and axe as they tried to break into a southwest Brisbane home, terrifying the occupants.

The attempted break-in occurred on Kooringal Drive, Jindalee at 11.30am on March 26, according to a social media post on a Facebook community group.

“The two men were driving a white Pajero, one had an axe the other a crowbar. Nobody was hurt, they did not get in and police have been informed,” one local posted.

Police said they attended the Jindalee street and patrolled the area, but nobody had been charged.

Another Facebook user said it was a reminder to keep everything locked up.

“The fact they have an axe is terrifying... this is getting insane,” they said.

“They can just smash through anything and use it as a weapon.

“At around 2am this morning the same car was parked on Arrabri Ave outside our house.

“I saw a man in black going through all of the bins including ours.

“I’m not sure if he came up our drive or not but he had a torch light. Everyone keep an eye out.

“We were woken by the white Pajero on Arrabri, I kept an eye on the, as they sussed out a few houses.”

One person posted that they monitored the car to see what it was up to.

“I went for a drive to see if they were up to no good and saw a white hatchback driving around suspiciously and eventually it parked on the wrong side of the road,” they said.

“I sounded my horn and checked them with my high beams, but they didn’t give a care in the world, they then took off up towards the primary school.”

Police were notified.
