Tributes flow for Brisbane nurse, Tim Everingham, after tragic Woolloongabba crash

A popular Brisbane nurse has been remembered by his sister as the “bestest little brother’’ following a tragic crash at the weekend.

A nurse who died after a collision with a car at Woolloongabba on Sunday morning has been remembered as “the bestest little brother’’ by his sister.

Tim Everingham, 31, a practice educator at the University of Queensland, was known as a

and a passionate educator who would do anything to help those around him.

He grew up in Taree in regional NSW and got his nursing degree at Lismore’s Southern Cross University.

More recently he worked at the Wesley Hospital in Auchenflower in the inner-west before starting as a practice educator at UQ last year.

His sister, Kiri Hatlow, this afternoon (July 25) posted on Facebook about her “bestest little brother’’.

“A beloved son, brother and uncle he was also a friend to many with his kind, generous nature and beautiful smile that would light up the room,’’ she wrote.

“The world is a darker place without him in it.

“May you RIP my bestest little brother. Until we meet again, you will always and forever be in my heart.’’

Professor Tracy Humphrey, Head of the UQ School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work, said the tight-knit university community was very saddened at the news.

“Tim was a much loved and highly respected member of the UQ family and will be missed by many,’’ Prof Humphrey said.

“He was passionate nurse and educator, approachable and supportive of students, providing pastoral care as well as clinical supervision.

“Tim was known for his student focus and commitment to supporting the next generation of nurses.’’

Initial police investigations indicated Mr Everingham was travelling along Logan Rd, near Martin St, about 9.30am on Sunday (July 24) when he and the car collided.

He was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the car was uninjured.

Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision from the area around the time of the incident were urged to contact police.

Investigations were continuing.
