THE GPS schoolboy basketball season is back with the opening round this weekend featuring several epic match-ups, including a rematch of the clash which clinched last year’s premiership.

Some of southeast Queensland’s most elite schools will start their quest for a premiership banner this Saturday after rushing to fit in as many trial games as possible over the past two weeks to finalise preparations for the season.

Teams only had from July 3 to prepare for this year’s revamped competition after contact sport was delayed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
