He’s done everything in his 40-year career – cutting flat-tops, mullets, mohawks and fades.

Now this legendary barber will do it all from a new location after launching his new shop in a fast-growing inner-city Brisbane suburb.

Robie Zullo, who started his career in 1980 before running his own store in Mt Gravatt for 25 years, recently opened Robert’s Original Barber Shop on Logan Rd, Woolloongabba.

Robie’s Son Daniel, who helped design the shop said the new location pays homage to the old-school barber shops with traditional-style chairs and benchtops and shelves made from scratch to give the place some extra flare and design.

“Robie started barbering back in 1980 at Stones Corner and has mostly been on the southside of Brisbane with his last endeavour being in Mt Gravatt, where had a longstanding barbershop,” he said.

“For the past eight years he has stepped back and decided to help friends and businesses all over the Brisbane on the north and south but had a burning desire to get back into the field for himself again.

“He has a following and a history of being a great barber, with an eye for detail and also his incredible wit, charm and amazing character that he brings to the table makes his shop unique.”

Mr Zullo said Woolloongabba was the perfect suburb to launch his new venture.

“It’s a new and upcoming area, with good foot traffic and lots of building going on,” he said.

“it will be amazing in the months and years to follow.”

His launch comes after several new businesses opened in Woolloongabba and with the massive South City Square development coming together across the road.
