Renee Vince from St Agnes, Mt Gravatt voted Brisbane south’s best childcare worker

There were so many great childcare workers from Brisbane’s southside to choose from but there can only be one winner. SEE WHO IT IS

She has been working in early childhood learning and outside hours school care for more than 20 years and it is her love for working with families that keeps her coming back.

That love, for Renee Vince from St Agnes OHSC at Mt Gravatt, has also led to her being voted the best childcare worker in Brisbane’s southside as part of our Quest Newspapers Facebook poll.

Ms Vince, 39, started her career in the industry in 2000 and has worked at St Agnes for the past eight years.

“I love working with families and really building a rapport with them and the kids,” the Mt Gravatt East resident said.

“This is a home away from home for the kids and we’ve really built a beautiful community here.

“Most of our staff are former St Agnes students, which really helps create a great atmosphere here, we’ve already had many of the kids ask us can they work here after school.”

Ms Agnes said watching the children at St Agnes grow was something she took great pride in.

“Being that person that can watch them grow and become the best person they can be, it’s great to watch,” she said.

“It’s the family feel that sets St Agnes apart, we’re like a big family and it all starts with the former students who now work here.”
