Luxury apartments could be the newest addition to a flashy waterfront strip on Brisbane’s bayside following a recent development application.
The proposal, which was submitted by Jesse Govender from HAL Architects on behalf of the PDMS Group Pty Ltd, is to build the Como Residences – a three-storey building at 437 Esplanade, Manly.
Sitting in the town centre, right next to the busy Manly Harbour Village on Cambridge Pde and across from the largest man-made harbour in the southern hemisphere, the Como Residences proposal is an 1007 sqm site, which will feature eight apartments and 20 carpark spaces.
The project also features a communal space on the ground floor.
All apartments, except for the one on the ground floor, are designed for three bedrooms with some having views of Moreton Bay.
The Como Residences is the first major residential development application in Manly since the controversial application to turn 195 Stratton Tce into a residential and retail complex was approved in November last year.
It has since been appealed by local residents in the Planning and Environment Court and was allowed despite having to make some changes to the proposal.
The new luxury apartment building also comes at a time when some Manly businesses are trying to revamp their venues after needing a much-needed boost following the COVID-19 pandemic.
