The owner of a beloved Brisbane burger chain is celebrating the opening on Monday of his fourth store by giving away 300 burgers – but has warned he expects them to fly out the door within half an hour.
Brooklyn Depot Stones Corner, located within the Bower Lane development on Logan Rd, will throw open its doors for the first time at 12pm – and its inaugural 300 customers will have the opportunity to wrap their mouths around a ‘Brooklyn Classic’ burger, worth $10 each.
The burger features a grass-fed beef patty, American cheese, oak leaf lettuce, tomato, and Depot special sauce.
Owner Danny Sibillo, who rescued Brooklyn Depot Southbank from the brink of insolvency and has since opened Brooklyn Depot Express venues at Fortitude Valley at Hamilton, said he is preparing for a “big couple of weeks” at Stones Corner.
“We think we’re going to get a lot of support from the local community,” Mr Sibillo said.
He stressed the free burgers would be on a ‘first come, first served’ basis – “When we did free burgers at the Fortitude Valley store, we were sold out in 30 minutes and the queue stretched around the corner”.
The opening of Brooklyn Depot Stones Corner was initially slated for the week beginning February 15, but this was delayed by hold-ups in securing a liquor licence – this will be in place on Thursday.
Aside from Monday’s festivities, Mr Sibillo said customers can expect a packed schedule of promotions and events at Stones Corner.
These will include happy hours, $10-lunch deal Mondays, Rib Tuesdays, Wing Wednesdays, two-for-one cocktail Thursdays.
“When you see the shop, you’re going to fall in love with it,” Mr Sibillo said.
