A Hawthorne man has been arrested over an isolated alleged dog baiting incident.
A 44-year-old Hawthorne man is set to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 10 over an alleged dog baiting reported to police in July.
Morningside Police officer-in-charge Marilyn Jackson said the allegations were not related to the recent baiting allegations at Newstead’s Waterfront Park and the neighbouring New Farm dog park nor were they related to the recent spate of suspected copycat incidents on the southside.
Sen-Sgt Jackson said the man was known to the owner of the dog alleged to have been baited.
The golden retriever dog did not die from the alleged baiting.
Sen-Sgt Jackson said security footage had led to the man’s arrest.
