Huge delays after three truck smash on Gateway Motorway, Murarrie

The M1 has been re-opened following ‘huge delays’ after an early morning three-truck smash on the Gateway Motorway left a driver with a serious head injury.

The M1 has been re-opened follwing ‘huge delays’ after an early morning three-truck smash on the Gateway Motorway left a driver with a serious head injury.

The Gateway Motorway is fully open following the incident near Wynnum Road this morning. This incident was cleared around 8.20am.

Paramedics were on scene at the multi-truck crash northbound at Murarrie after being called out about 5.38am.

One of the truck drivers, a man in his 40s, was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with a serious head injury.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the drivers of the other two trucks seemed fine.

“Expect huge delays,” she said.

Motorists have been urged to avoid the area earlier this morning.
