Dennis Hogan’s preparation for his April 13 world title fight against Jaime Munguia in Mexico will be so meticulous, he will be taking his own personal chef to a United States training camp ahead of the Monterey showdown.
Mark Rockley from Wilde Kitchen in Teneriffe will travel with Hogan and his advance crew of sponsor Murray Thornton and performance coach Chris Muckert, a former NRL player.
Thornton, from the company Devcorp, has been sponsoring Hogan for three years and he will fund everything from the meals Rockley cooks, to training and recovery sessions to his Santa Monica accommodation.
Hogan said the support of Thornton and his team could add up to 20 per cent to his performance on fight night.

“I say it will add 15 to 20 per cent to my preparation,’’ Hogan said.
“It means I don’t have to stress. They don’t want me worrying about anything else except performance.
“They all got together to make sure I had everything I need,’’ Hogan said.
“They have left no stone unturned.
“Everything I eat and drink will be sourced through these guys.
“I have been the US before there and back, but I know in the time we have everything will be perfect. It is going to work well.’’

After the initial landing party arrives, Hogan’s No. 1 trainer from the Stretton Boxing Club, Glenn Rushton, will arrive with his team to take over Hogan’s final preparations ahead of the bout.
Hogan will be in Los Angeles and west coast Mexico for more than three weeks prior to the fight.
Thornton said the plan to take Hogan to the USA west coast well ahead of his title fight was hatched last year when he accompanied Hogan to Las Vegas to watch Hogan’s training partner Jeff Horn take on Terence Crawford.
Thornton said they were sitting in the airport at Las Vegas thinking about different ways to go about an overseas fight when they decided to investigate the benefits of arriving almost a month in advance of a fight.
Horn had also told Hogan if he was ever in his shoes, then consider arriving at an overseas destination well in advance.
Thornton said Hogan was ready for the clash with Munguia.
“We have been supporting him for three years knowing this is his time,’’ Thornton said.
