US bakery giant Cinnabon is set to steal the hearts of southsiders with the announcement it will open its next Brisbane store on Valentine’s Day.

The Bansal Group is bringing the world-famous Cinnamon Rolls to Westfield Garden City on February 14, following hot on the heels of the Toombul opening in December.

Last week, the Southern Starreported on the opening date being delayed due to equipment for the store not arriving on time.

While the rest of the country is screaming for their own delicious gooey treats, the Bansal Group franchisors are sticking close to home again for their second opening.

“We knew there was going to be heavy demand for this iconic brand, but we certainly didn’t anticipate this level of excitement,” Bansal Group director Gaurav Bansal said.

“We’ve been beyond amazed at the response we’ve had at Toombul, as well as at pop-up stores in Springfield, Logan, and Helensvale so we’re also exploring opportunities to have more pop-ups around the country.

“We do promise to open permanent bakeries in other cities soon too, but we’re starting with our roots, and where we know we can easily manage sourcing the best quality product, locations and team members.

“Once we’ve secured the best locations and suppliers in other states, we’ll start to open more bakeries around the country, and we’re working hard on that now.”

Regional areas need not despair as they’re also on the radar for Cinnabon too, not just urban centres.

“As with our Carl’s Jr. franchise, we know there are great opportunities in regional areas, and we’ll open bakeries if we identify a sweet spot, no pun intended.”

Cinnabon Garden City will carry the brands most beloved trio of treats – the Classic Makara Cinnamon Roll, Chocobon and Caramel Pecanbon – in mini and large sizes. There will also be CinnaPacks of four and 9 minibons available.

Like Cinnabon Toombul, Garden City will be serving up specialty-grade coffee from an award-winning local roastery. If you’re looking for something cooler on the palette, cinnalicious iced and blended beverages, such as the signature Cinnamon Roll Chillata are also on offer.
