US bakery giant Cinnabon’s next Brisbane store opening has been delayed.
Cinnabon’s Nundah shop at Toombul Shopping Centre is already open, with the Upper Mt Gravatt store to be the next cab-off-the-rank.
New stores at Chermside and Mt Ommaney are also on the cards.
But due to a delay in bringing equipment from the US to Brisbane, the opening date for the Westfield Garden City shopping centre store has been pushed back from early February to mid-February.
But until the equipment arrives, no date will be set.
The Bansal Group, which opened six stand-alone Carl’s Jr stores in a year in southeast Queensland, is responsible for bringing Cinnabon Down Under.
Over the next five years, Bansai Group foresees at least 50 Cinnabon outlets across Australia.
Bansal Group co-owner Gaurav Bansal told News Corp last year Cinnabon’s point of difference was that there was no international competitor on the Australian market.
“Some places sell frozen doughnuts. We are fresh on site. We make them every half an hour. No one does that,” Mr Bansal said.
The bakery restaurant chain started in Seattle in 1985 and operates in almost 50 countries.
Nicole Perkins wrote on Cinnabon Australia’s Facebook page: “I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am.”
“How many hours exactly are we talking about?” Taela Wheeler added.
Olivia Wessling wrote: “Hell yes! How long till you open?”
