A new Italian inspired bakery in Brisbane’s east already has a cult following despite opening only earlier this month.

Cerin Pasticceria has created a buzz with its coffee, pastries and cakes.

Pastry chef Matteo Cerin and hospitality veteran Giuseppe Caputo have collaborated to take over from former tenants ‘The Baker’s Arms’.

Their social media accounts have skyrocketed since they announced the opening, with content already shared to more than 8500 followers on Instagram.

The shop features a “viewing window” so customers can watch “behind the scenes’’ as dough is rolled and pastries are decorateded.

The beige and white-themed outlet has a row of stools inside plus a footpath dining space for customers to enjoy their treats.

Mr Caputo said he did not want the bakery to be “super modern or fancy”.

“We want to keep it simple, warm and give a nice impression to the customers,” he said.

The bakery’s social media accounts have skyrocketed since opening day.

Mr Cerin, the owner and chef, said “Italian’’ cuisine these days could be hard to define.

“The French do Italian stuff, Italians do French stuff, so it’s going to be a bit of a mix,” Mr Cerin said.

Fans of more savoury treats can indulge in a carbonara-inspired danish, focaccia sandwiches and pizza by the slice.

Those with a sweeter tooth can enjoy a flaky cornetti, textbook cannoli and Rome’s famous maritozzi — fluffy brioche buns filled with whipped cream.

Cerin Pasticceria is open from Tuesday to Sunday 6.30am – 3.30pm, unless sold out before.
