One of Melbourne’s most iconic burger joints has finally made its way to the Sunshine State with free burgers up for grabs this weekend.
YOMG (Yo-My-Goodness), a Victorian burger and self-serve frozen yoghurt venue established in 2013, will open on Saturday, June 8, at Westfield Chermside.
It will serve their famous stacked and juicy burgers for free from 11am to midday on Saturday*, as well as giving away $10,000 worth of free frozen yoghurt on Sunday.
Co-Founder Justin Wilson said Brisbane was the natural choice for their inaugural interstate venture.
“Brissy’s sunny weather and vibrant market presented an exciting opportunity to share the YOMG experience with a new audience,” Mr Wilson said.
“YOMG is designed to be a welcoming destination for customers of all ages and tastes, providing a space where friends and families can come together to hang out and enjoy a wide variety of flavours.
* An earlier version of this story incorrectly said burgers would be free all day Saturday.
“We have pride in our quality Australian angus beef patties, sauces made on site and our own milk bun recipe.
“We’ve already commenced drawing together our Chermside team, all hailing from the local area.’’
“Chermside will be just the beginning. We have plans for further expansion throughout the Sunshine State in the pipeline.’’
As well as burgers, YOMG served shakes, artisanal frozen yoghurt and acai and also offered a self-serve toppings bar with everything from vegan reatts to Angus beef patties.
The “vibe” of the restaurant was modern, featuring YOMG brand colour purple, with gold trimmings and LED lights.
“We want people to enjoy the space and take away our quality ingredients and value for their money,” Mr Wilson said.
YOMG opens on Saturday and Sunday from 9am–11pm.
