A popular award-winning cafe in Brisbane’s inner-south has shocked customers after announcing its sudden closure.
The beloved Ninebar and Kitchen at Coorparoo today posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page, advising the community they would shut the doors to their shop on Old Cleveland Road after their final day on Friday.
“To all of our loyal customers, it is with great sadness to announce the closure of our cafe,” the post read.
“Our final day will be Friday 17th November.
“We thank each and every one of you who supported us over the past four years. What a ride it has been.
“In what has been an extremely challenging time to be in business from covid, to inflation and staff shortages we are very proud of what we achieved.
“We will miss all of you.”
Ninebar and Kitchen’s announcement comes just two years after it was voted to have the best brunch on Brisbane’s southside.
The news has stunned the cafe’s loyal customers, who reacted on social media.
“Oh no! What an accomplishment. Remember your Covid dinners shortly after opening. Has always been my favourite brunch in Brisbane. I hope you get a moment to rest before your next adventure,” one customer said.
“Such sad news. Good luck with your future endeavours. Your restaurant was fantastic,” another customer wrote.
