A popular Chinese restaurant and takeaway burger shop in Brisbane’s Bayside has shut its doors after ten years feeding hungry Manly customers.

CJ’s Cafe and Takeaway on Ernest St, Manly has been forced to close and the owner Tina Fu said the family needs a break after some unfortunate health issues.

“It is very sad to go because we have worked so hard on the business but our family just needs a break,” she said.

“We will miss all the customers. We have been here for 10 years so we have met a lot of people and they have told us how sad they will be to see us go.”

Regular customers shared their reaction to the news on social media and spoke of their fond memories of the place.

“This is my favourite Mongolian place in all of Brisbane,” one local said.

“It is our go-to fresh takeaway and will be missed. It has the best fried rice in town.

“My boys sneak out to this place during their high school breaks. They rave about the food.”

The lease ends in May and the owners said they hope to sell the restaurant to someone that will continue to feed the Manly locals.
