The Basketball Show 2021/22 | Episode 22

Some of Australia’s top junior athletes took centre stage this month to showcase their skills in the Basketball Queensland Under-16 State Championships.

The boys’ tournament was hosted by the North Gold Coast Seahawks at the Coomera Indoor Sports Complex from April 7-10, while the girls tournament was hosted by Toowoomba Basketball at both Toowoomba Grammar School and The Glennie School from April 12-15.

And NewsCorp was not only there to livestream all the action but our photographers were there to catch juniors from all over the state in action on the court with more than 230 action shots from the events.

What a month of basketball competition it was with the Gold Coast Rollers taking home the state title in the boys and the Logan Thunder claiming the gold medal in the girls.

The year of hoops in Queensland is just getting started though with the NBL1 and QSL senior competitions just weeks away from tip-off before the state championships for the under-12s and under-14s age groups later in the year.
