The Redlands community is grieving the loss of a beloved personal trainer – remembered for being the “friendliest, most caring, ray of sunshine’’.

Cam Littlejohn was the head personal trainer at Cleveland gym Fit HQ.

According to his profile on their website, he had been working in the fitness industry for 10 years.

“He’s the trainer on the floor who is always up for a chat, and will never let a client lose motivation,” the bio said.

“Cam spends his weekends exploring the outdoors, so knows exactly what it takes to transfer functional fitness into a real world environment.”

His favourite exercise was the bench press, his favourite cheat meal a great northern and his favourite sports team the Springboks.

Fit HQ took to Facebook to share a touching tribute.

“The friendliest, most caring, ray of sunshine. Any one who met Cam would know that he truly was the epitome of happiness in every form,” they said.

“We love you, we will miss you forever.”

At the weekend the gym hosted drinks for members to get together and pay tribute to Mr Littlejohn.

A GoFundMe page was also started by Stacey Davies to raise money for his funeral and for his father.

“There are not sufficient words to express how heart broken we are at Cam’s passing,” Ms Davies said.

“Cam was larger than life, always up for an adventure or a beer. We will dearly miss his smiling face and terrible jokes!

“We are hoping to raise some funds to help his family with the costs to farewell Cam. All funds will be passed onto Mike, Cam’s dad.”

A friend of Mr Littlejohn’s, Jenny Inge, shared a tribute on social media.

“My heart is broken today for the loss of my good friend Cameron Littlejohn. I would love so much to make this into an uplifting memorial tribute post, but I’m just not at that place right now,” she said.

“I’m experiencing deep sorrow, overwhelming sadness, disbelief, anger and emptiness for a life cut too short and in its prime.

“We shared a love for fitness, reggae music and tomahawk steaks and we had so much in common it was uncanny. The connection and lessons you taught my boys I will forever be grateful.

“I’m going to miss seeing your smiling face every morning, I’m going to miss our deep conversations about life, and I’m gonna miss your silly puns that made me cringe with laughter.

“But mostly I’m going to miss your zest for adventure and your happy and positive outlook on life which makes this tragedy even greater.

“This kind of death hurts so deeply because there are always so many questions, so many missed opportunities and it’s hard to truly know what you were experiencing.

“I’m grateful we spoke just hours before you passed and now I can see you were saying goodbye in your own way.

“I pray for your soul, but I now turn my focus onto your family and close friends that are mourning your loss.”
