A young Redlands drug-addict has been sentenced after luring a man to an address to rob him with a crowbar to pay a drug debt.

A young Redlands ice-addict has been sentenced for “luring” a man to an address with the promise of sex in exchange for cash, before he was bashed with a crowbar by her two accomplices.

Coochiemudlo Island woman Tahnie Rose Beaumont, 22, who the court heard now lives with her sister at Nambour, pleaded guilty in Brisbane District Court to one count of robbery in company with personal violence.

The court heard the offence occurred on January 23 last year at an address at Capalaba involving Beaumont and two co-defendants, one of whom was her then-boyfriend, who owed a drug debt.

Beaumont, who the court heard was a methamphetamine and fantasy addict with a three-phase criminal history, placed an advertisement online for sex in exchange for $450.

This ad was answered by the victim, who was taken down the side of the Capalaba address, which Beaumont knew was vacant, the court heard.

When they arrived, the victim was approached by Beaumont’s partner, who was armed with a crowbar.

“Don’t make this hard, just give me the cash,” the man told the victim, the court heard.

The victim tried to prise the crowbar from the man, but was struck in the head.

Seeing the fracas, the third co-defendant ran from the parked utility the trio used to travel to the offence location, and joined in the bashing of the victim, who was knocked to the ground, punched several times, and struck again with the crowbar.

His wallet with the $450, mobile phone, and vehicle were all stolen by the trio, who were arrested charged the following day.

The court heard Beaumont was evasive with police when interviewed and went on the run for five months after failing to appear when she was previously listed to be sentenced for this offending, which occurred while she was subject to an 18-month probation order.

Her two co-defendants were sentenced to three and three-and-a-half years’ imprisonment for their roles in the robbery.

Defence counsel James Feely told the court his client, a former Logan resident, moved to the Sunshine Coast to live with family following the offending, which had helped her disassociate from bad influences and address her drug addiction.

Beaumont was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, with immediate court-ordered parole having spent 29 days remanded in pre-sentence custody.

She remains remanded in custody on other charges, however, which include a charge of breaching her probation and other summary offences.
