Redland Bay parents thrilled by early birth of Redland Hospital’s first baby of the year

Their baby wasn’t quite due but that didn’t stop this Redlands couple’s little girl from arriving at what they say was the perfect time.

REDLAND Hospital has welcomed its first baby of the new decade.

Little Oakley Tess Langford was not due to be born until tomorrow however arrived safely in the extremely early hours of New Year’s Day.

The Redlands’ newest resident is the first child of Redland Bay couple Alana Axisa and Travis Langford who said they could not be happier with their daughter’s birthday.

“I was hoping for a New Year’s baby but I didn’t think it would actually happen,” Ms Axisa said.

“I would like to say a massive thank you to all the Redland Hospital maternity staff for doing such an amazing job!

“I had a fantastic labour and delivery because the staff were very friendly and professional.

“She has a big brother Archie (the family’s pet dog) who can’t wait to meet her!”

Oakley was born at 1.07am January 1, 2020, weighing 3.49kg.
