Police are searching for the owner of a capsized boat found submerged in Moreton Bay near Stradbroke Island.

Police are searching for the owner of a capsized boat found submerged in Moreton Bay near Stradbroke Island.

Brisbane Water Police are appealing for help after the silver 3.5m Savage Gull dinghy was found south of Russell Island, between Cobby Cobby Island and North Stradbroke Island, yesterday morning (July 5).

Officers retrieved the dinghy about 11am after the vessel capsized.

Police said there was no personal property in the boat and the its registration details were unreadable.

They searched the area without finding any other clues and were now asking the community for help to find the owner of the vessel.

Anyone who recognises the dinghy or has information about the owner is urged to call police on 131 444.
