POLICE investigations are underway next to a bayside tennis complex this morning following the discovery of a body.
The investigation is underway next to the tennis courts on Boundary St, Redland Bay.
Police have been there from at least 8.30am.
It is believed the death was not suspicious however police investigations are continuing.
Police and neighbours remain tight-lipped as a macabre scene plays out near a popular sports club in a bayside suburb.
Usually teeming with tennis players on a Saturday Redland Bay Tennis Club is surrounded by police and emergency service vehicles as the body of a woman found early this morning is investigated at an adjacent creek.
It makes for a stark contrast to the usual wholesome goings-on – pre-coronavirus – nearby the Charlie Buckler Sportsfield.
While police had little to say other than to confirm the body of a woman was found, a neighbour was taken aback by the tragic discovery.
“It is not good news for the area,” the man said.
Having recently installed a camera out the front of his property the local said nothing of value had been picked up in footage which had been reviewed by police.
The man did say that Boundary St had become even more congested with residents accessing the nearby 7-Eleven, opened last year, at all hours of the day.
The area is close to a popular walking route for locals and backs onto a nearby creek.
