A rescue helicopter has taken an elderly woman to hospital after she was injured in a sandboarding incident at a popular tourist site at Moreton Island.
The helicopter was deployed after the woman, in her 70s, suffered neck and shoulder injuries in the incident at the Tangalooma Wrecks walking track at 12.09pm.
Paramedics were on the scene treating the woman, who is in a stable condition.
The helicopter later took her to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital.
