The four-wheel-drive will give police more mobility on their patrols and better access to bush tracks and the island’s beaches.

Point Lookout Police Beat Officer Ivan Parsons said it had already been put to good use.

“It’s great to have a new way of getting amongst it at Point Lookout,” senior constable Parsons said.

“I’m looking forward to connecting with the tourists and locals down on the beaches and camp grounds during the holidays.”

The vehicle will be used by the Dunwich Police and Point Lookout Police Beat over the Easter school holidays.
