A four-month operation into a tobacco shop raid has resulted in a man being charged with an alleged armed robbery of a tobacco shop in Wynnum in April.
Police will allege the man was armed when he entered a Florence St tobacconist and threatened a female store attendant before running away with cigarettes, tobacco products and some money.
Police alleged the man was in the company of another armed person who was still at large.
They asked witnesses to come forward.
No one was injured in the April 20 raid which happened just before 8pm.
CCTV footage of the incident showed two men, one allegedly armed with a machete and the other allegedly holding a hand gun.
After extensive investigations, a 20-year-old Riverbend man was taken into police custody.
He was charged with a range of offences including armed robbery, entering premises and possessing drug utensils on August 30.
He appeared at Wynnum Magistrates Court on August 31 and was due to reappear on October 30.
The charges followed a coordinated police operation of tobacco shops and premises across the southeast this week.
