Three men facing a string of charges after a North Stradbroke Island wedding, after which police allege one man urinated all over a police holding cell, have had their matter adjourned so they can view CCTV footage.
Appearing at Cleveland Magistrates Court today Lawnton man Tyson Alan Sproules, 22, was charged with two counts of wilful damage of police property, one charge of wilful damage, a single charge of obstruct police officer (108B COA public place adversely affected) and a count of commit public nuisance.
Lawnton man Jake William Sproules, 24, was charged with a single count of obstruct police officer (108B COA public place adversely affected).
It is believed both Sproules were groomsmen at the wedding of Shelley Maree Baker, 45, also from Lawnton.
Baker has been charged with obstruct police officer (108B COA public place adversely affected) and commit public nuisance within licensed premises but did not appear with the men.
Petrie man Matthew Peter Fenn, 23, appeared alongside the Sproules charged with obstruct police officer (108B COA public place adversely affected).
Fenn and the Sproules are next scheduled to appear before the court on July 6 after their matter was adjourned so they can view CCTV footage of their alleged behaviour on Anzac Day.
The court heard the men would be given access to footage from North Stradbroke Island and Dunwich Police Station.
The court appearance came after what a Queensland Police Service spokesman called an alleged “protracted” event that “culminated” with one man allegedly “urinating all over a police holding cell” at around 5am on April 25.
According to police, the men were initially arrested at around 12.30am at the Point Lookout Bowls Club.
