The CBD of a bayside suburb east of Brisbane could be set for a new addition after a family, which has cut hair for almost half a century, decided to close their salon.

The scissors have been put down for the final time after a legendary bayside hair salon closed its doors after almost 50 years.
Dennis Swaney Hairdressers at 2/78-80 Middle St, Cleveland has been a significant part of the suburb’s community for decades but shut for the final time last month.
Mr Swaney ran the store before he passed away more than four years ago when his daughter took over the business.
Local residents took to social media to pay tribute to the longstanding Redlands business.
“End of an era, but respect and applause to the legacy,” one former customer said on Facebook.
“Beautiful family they will be missed such an iconic for Cleveland wishing all the best in retirement,” another person posted.
The site, which is in the heart of the Cleveland CBD, is now up for lease for the first time in 44 years.
Advertised by Ray White Commercial Bayside, the listing described the site as a location with unbeatable signage and exposure.
