“(Police) observed an occupant asleep in the driver's seat with keys in the ignition,” police prosecutor, Emily Ollenburg, said.

The court heard her breath analysis returned a reading of 0.110 per cent.

“She stated she did not recall leaving (a hotel),” Ms Ollenburg said.

“She could not articulate how she ended up in Wellington Point.”

Ms Long’s lawyer, Tanya Dower, said her client was regretful of her actions.

“She’s deeply ashamed and remorseful,” Ms Dower said.

“She clearly had no idea what she was doing at the time.”

Magistrate Deborah Vasta saidthe incident would at least give Ms Long insight into the behaviour of any future clients, who came to her for alcohol problems.

“You’ve never done this before,” Ms Vasta said.

“This will probably make you far better at your job.”

Ms Long was fined $1500 and disqualified from driving for three months.

No convictions were recorded.
