Young dad Byron Alan Rennie Foster, 19, pleaded guilty to 10 charges in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Wednesday including dangerous operation of a vehicle while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, disqualified driving, wilfully making unnecessary noise or smoke and three counts of evasion.

The court heard Foster, who grew up in Logan, had been drinking on the day he was spotted driving dangerously in Withcott on December 13, 2020.

Police prosecutor Sgt Stephen Cochrane said an ambulance crew on the road was so concerned with his manner of driving they attempted to intercept him.

“When police arrived he fishtailed the vehicle in a 360-degree turn, causing it to smash into the side of a concrete wall before driving away,” he said.

Foster’s lawyer said at the time of the offence he had been drinking in excess after losing his employment and living out of his car.

The court heard Foster was also caught wilfully making unnecessary noise and smoke on April 17, 2021, and took off and evaded police after the offence.

He was ordered to spend a mandatory 50 days in jail and sentenced to 12 months suspended for an operational period of three years. He was also disqualified from driving for over 10 years
