Residents of a leafy up-market inner-city suburb were given a breakfast surprise when a police chase unfolded in their street while they were out on their morning walk.
Clayfield residents watched in amazement as two men, one dressed in bright red shorts and the other in a state of undress, fled police down a street near Oriel Park.
A blue sedan was abandoned with the passenger door left open after it was rammed into a tree in the park.
Moments later, Hendra Police arrested a man in Barlow St, Clayfield, after the chase through parts of the suburb including the popular park, which is close to shops and busy Clayfield Rd.
Police said they had arrested a man in his 20s and a man in his 30s for questioning about the car.
A purse along with a mobile phone were found on the footpath near where the chase had taken place.
