Sandgate-Redcliffe women’s cricket coach Bruce Arrold has praised with work ethic and attitude of Georgia Voll after the Toowoomba schoolgirl was named to make her debut in the Queensland Fire team.
Voll, 16, joins another teenager, Valley’s Charli Knott, in the 12 for next week’s Women’s National Cricket League games at Allan Border Field.

The Fairholme College student earns her call-up after being named Player of the Championships after a fine all-round campaign at last month’s under 18 national titles.
She scored 314 runs at 34.9 with a top score of 83 and take 12 wickets at an average of 11.4 including best figures of 4-10.
Voll is also the second leading runs-scorer in the Katherine Raymont Shield, hitting 709 runs at 59.08 with two centuries.
She commutes from the Darling Downs to play with Sandgate-Redcliffe.
Coach Arrold said Voll earned selection through sheer weight of runs.
“Weight of numbers,’’ Arrold said. “She has a lot of runs this season.
“She can also bowl a bit and field wells.
“And they recognise she is going all right with the bat.’’
Arrold said she had a terrific attitude and was easy to coach.
“She never stops working hard, always turns up and puts the effort in.
“Her attitude is fantastic, and she very respectful and a credit to her family.’’
HOW BETH MOONEY INSPIRES YOUNG GATORS
Knott, 17 from Valley and who attends Brisbane State High School, made her debut in the
Konica Minolta Queensland Fire as a 15-year-old. She has played four games.
Knott was captain of the Queensland under-18 women’s team that finished second in the T20 competition and joint champions in the one-day component of the National titles in Hobart earlier this month.
She then played for the Cricket Australia XI and Governor General’s XI in matches against Australia and India.
Queensland will be without the Australian trio of Beth Mooney, Jess Jonassen and Delissa Kimmince but have more than capable replacements in the form of Voll and Knott who are both coming off successful campaigns.
Queensland sit in fourth spot at the moment in the WNCL and would need to win both remaining games, with bonus points in play, and need other results to fall in their favour to snatch a top-two spot.
Allan Border Field will host three WNCL matches next week with admission free.
