Shoppers in Brisbane’s ritzy inner-north will soon be spoiled for choice with a swanky new upgrade in store for a suburban supermarket with renovations scheduled to start next month.
A spokesman for HG Retail confirmed IGA Ascot will be rebranded to IGA Marketplace Ascot and the store will be closed temporarily from July 10 for renovations as a result.
“The store is in need of a renovation and we will be updating it to become Marketplace Ascot (it will take on the look of its sister stores at New Farm, Milton, St Lucia and Wises Road),” he said.
And if it’s anything like its sister stores, local shoppers can expect a wide variety of quality meat selections, fresh produce and delicious gourmet deli options.
“We’re creating an updated supermarket with the freshest produce, huge choice of products and brilliant customer service,” the spokesman said.
“A destination that we hope will be your first choice
“Homes in the neighbouring streets can expect to find a full informational flyer in their letterboxes as of July 6.”
A reopening date has not yet been confirmed but the spokesman said it should be back up and running by spring.
“Given the considerable amount of work that is taking place to bring our locals this new and fantastic shopping experience, we plan to reopen in spring,” he said.
